Of course if your question is not available here on this page, please feel free
to fill out your question online below and one of our representatives will
answer it online or via phone; or you may call us toll free and we can answer it
for you. Our Toll Free # is (866) - 767- 4773.
1 . How long have you been in business for?
Established in 1991,
Genesis DJ has continued to grow over the years, while providing
the type of entertainment that is affordable and
enjoyable for all types of functions.
2 . What type of function is your specialty?
Our main specialty is providing wedding entertainment to southern New England.
But that is not all. Our DJ's are out every weekend doing a variety of functions
such as
Birthday Parties for all ages, school dances and
Proms, as well as Wedding Anniversaries.
No matter what the occasion, we will provide A1
service for you and your guests.
3 . Can we meet with you or see you at an event?
We can meet with you but you must make an appointment with us. Appointments can
be made during the day or evenings. Please call or email us for availability.
You will be able to meet with the DJ and discuss your ideas with him.
As far as meeting us at an event, you are welcome to stop in any PUBLIC event we are
doing. We never invite potential clients to a wedding as we would never invite anyone
to your wedding. Please contact us for a listing of public events where you can see our
equipment and watch our DJ perform.
4. How long does it take for you to setup and teardown?
We usually like to arrive 1-2 hours before the event, depending on the size of the sound
system, and the venue. We take about 30-45 minutes to breakdown. This time is all
included in the price of your package, and your package time (example...5 hour package)
is 5 hours of playing time.
5. Do you have a current business license?
In harmony with local laws, professional disc jockey companies should hold current
business licenses. In Massachusetts, this includes a current municipal business license
from the city where the disc jockey is located. Genesis Disc Jockey has held a current
business license with the City of Attleboro. We are also a member of the Attleboro
Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the American Disc Jockey Association.
6. What if I can't find a song I want in the
Digital Jockey music database?
If you cannot find the song that you want for your event, it may be that we have not
yet indexed the song or do not own it. If you let us know before the event,we will do
everything to acquire the song(s) you desire at no additional cost. For assistance
searching the music database or creating a playlist, please email or call us.
7. Is Setup time included in your price?
You never have to pay for setup or takedown time. We typically arrive 1-2 hours prior
to your scheduled event start time and will be setup before your first guests arrive.
Our services are truly uninterrupted and non-stop. From our scheduled start time to
our scheduled end time, we will never pause to take a break. Much unlike bands that
need to stop and rest, we can just keep playing straight through your event.
9 Can we have a "Do-Not-Play List"?
Sometimes the do-not-play list is equally important or more important than the request
list itself! We understand that you don't want to hear the song you and your "ex" danced
to. Or maybe you've been to one too many weddings lately and are sick of the typical
wedding songs. Any specific songs or general types of music you absolutely hate
should go on your "do not play" list. So don't feel as though we have to play the
chicken dance and hokey pokey...we don't! Rest assured that if a guest requests a
song that is on your "do-not-play" list, it will not be played.
10. How loud do you play the music?
One of the greatest complaints of bands and DJs alike is that they play the music too
loud. It doesn't have to be that way! During cocktail and dinner hours (if applicable)
the speakers will be strategically positioned for even sound coverage throughout the
banquet room at a comfortable level. When it's time to dance, the speakers will be
repositioned for maximum sound coverage on the dance floor and minimum sound
exposure throughout the rest of the banquet room. This means that on the dance
floor the music will be at a very comfortable, yet powerful enough level for dancing.
Throughout the rest of the room the music will be less predominant and your guests
will actually be able to carry on a normal conversation without screaming!
11. Do you hang any banners or other advertisements?
Absolutely not. We pride ourselves on being elegant. While we appreciate referral
business, we feel our services speak for themselves. We will not hang any banners,
logos, or signs on our equipment. Nor will we put any advertisements on the dinner
tables. The extent of our "advertising" is an unobtrusive stack of business cards
next to our equipment so guests can easily take a card without interrupting the DJ.
12. Can we choose the music to be played at our event?
You'll be unbelievably amazed at how flexible we are when it comes to music selection! That's because in the past 14 years we've learned that keeping the dance floor packed is influenced by many factors, including the order and style in which the songs are played, the way songs are mixed together, and DJ interaction...not just which songs are played.
We've had clients that have chosen every song for the entire event and others that have left the music selection completely up to us. Our recommendation is to provide us with a list of "must play" songs and list of "play if possible" songs. This will leave plenty of room for requests from your guests and DJ selections. You may also stipulate that we not take requests from you guests.
It’s your event – select the music you want to hear and dance to and, most important, have fun! It’s your event!
1. How much do you require for a deposit to hold a date?

a $50 deposit, will hold the date for your special
event.

Discover, American Express, personal checks, bank checks, and money orders for final
payment.

Please make checks payable to: Genesis Disc Jockey
